I remember the first commemoration of March 8th, here in a very closed country's northern suburbs. He had a friend who had introduced the habit almost years of my mother, recently moved from Milan. Several hundred mimeographed copies of a newspaper with the story of minutes and Cotton other news, especially relating to women's health and maternal and going to deploy in front of two women's outer wear factories that no longer exist. The friend, who had some entratura, he brought a camper doctor to perform a free Pap test, then visit almost unknown to those who wish to submit, could be open at the local municipal pediatric clinic for a couple of hours a week . Together with other library opened in a course aimed at achieving middle school to adults who do not possess, and you also participated in some men. It was the first mid-seventies, Italy had very fervor of dignity, equality, knowledge if this flurry had come so far, in a small country.
Now, therefore, how to celebrate the March 8 against the barbarism that moves?
Defending the Italian Constitution, of course, defending the principles of the Declaration of Human Rights, defending the work, culture, reason. If I reflect, however, the image of woman that the media (advertising, entertainment, etc.) offer us, I find that the female image is debased. Even girls will present models of submissive woman, bound only to the "construction" of their external appearance, very fashionable current approved, to be constantly made up, even to "touch up" surgery aesthetic. The female body, in this case and contrary to first appearances, is not valued (sexuality, maternity, beauty), but made the subject of trade, goods made in competition with other goods. The body of the woman is humiliated body, the body is violated. Against these great expressions of civic and moral decadence, we must therefore start from the woman's body. And we must abandon the dualism in which it is broken up: the body as an object of attainment of sexual pleasure (what you buy, sell, it "works aesthetically"), or body as the seat of generating children, for themselves or their spouses ( what "protection"), and both removed from the unit deep and unrepeatable uniqueness of the body-person. The break-up (an updated version of the "old" division of women among schizophrenic mothers, virgins and whores ") is an ecclesiastical or political propaganda, so insistent, however, to have assumed the characteristics of a real world view also commonly among the people.
The body is what we are - even the highest rational faculties, artistic, literary, moral, are the faculties of body and body, as taught science -. The body, therefore, must regain its freedom and its sacredness. As the body of the infant just out of the womb, as the body preparation of the dead man to disappear into the earth or in the fire, the woman's body (and, together, man) should be returned to their own nobility and beauty in every age of life. Have you noticed how often when you play the part of Klimt's "The Three Ages of Woman", delete the old played on the left? It 'a symptom of a historical moment, our, apparently voted, consumption, without distinguishing between "products" manufactured by humans, animals and plants living nature and human bodies. The body-person women's rights within each age, the body-person returned to the dignity of women at any age, the body-person donna sede di piacere e di bellezza in sé e per sé e non il corpo artefatto da esporre, da esibire, da “valorizzare” anche economicamente e strumentalmente, è il corpo-persona in festa dell’8 marzo.
Buon 8 marzo.
