Two novels about the genocide of the Armenians
Roses of Esther Margaret Ahnert AJEMIAN rooms and lavender Ondine KHAYAT are both novels that deal with the issue of genocide of Armenians in Turkey consumatosi early last century. They share also be stories written by children and grandchildren of women who, even girls, were witnesses and victims of persecution.
Esther, the heroine of the first book is just a girl when she is forced to undertake a long march of deportation during which sees death most of his family and his many co-religionists. Forced to marry a turkish, does not fit the new life that has forced him to flee and find a new home in America.
Louise, the protagonist of Rooms lavender belongs to a wealthy Armenian family: his grandfather is an entrepreneur and banker, benefactor and founder of schools and charitable institutions in his hometown and in connection with influential members of parliament turkish. But this is not enough to save his family from persecution and dall'eccidio. Just Louise and her younger sister Marie, pur stremate da una lunga deportazione, sopravvivono.
